X-ray fluorescence analysis (XRF) Principal and trace element analyses by means of XRF are indispensable for the quality assurance of oxidic raw and other materials. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) This combination of high-resolution image formation and X-ray micro-analysis techniques (EDX/WDX) is applied in the analysis of air, dust or material samples for substances hazardous to health such as, for instance, asbestos or artificial mineral fibres. Moreover, it offers abundant opportunities to resolve scientific, technical and medical problems.
